The 8th of Muharram-ul-Haram was observed in Karachi like other parts of the country on Wednesday with due solemnity.

In this regard, processions were taken out from various areas of the city, while Majalis were also held.

The main procession of 8th Muharram-ul-Haram was taken out from Nishtar Park and will culminate at Imambargah Hussainia Irania in the evening.

The Government of Sindh had made strict security arrangement for the safety of the participants of the procession and over seven thousand police personnel, Rangers and other law enforcement agencies were deployed around the route of the procession.

The cellular service had been suspended in the areas around the route and ban on pillion riding has been imposed in the city till 10th Muharram-ul-Haram.
