Sudan’s Transitional Military Council announces delay in formation of sovereignty council for 48 hours

In Sudan, Transitional Military Council today  announced delay of formation of the sovereignty council for 48 hours.

The TMC's spokesman Shams-Eddin Kabashi said the Freedom and Change Alliance withdrew some names from the list it had submitted and demanded  further time to hand over its final list of candidates.

Meanwhile, ousted president Omar al-Bashir has arrived at the court house in  Khartoum where he is facing corruption charges.

Prosecutor Alaa al-Din Abdallah said Bashir was charged with illicit possession of foreign currency and accepting gifts in an unofficial manner.
