Lok Sabha accepts no-confidence motion against Modi govt, debate & voting on Friday

In India, a debate followed by voting on no-confidence motion accepted by Lok Sabha yesterday against Narendra Modi-led government will be held tomorrow.

While accepting the notice, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said that more than fifty members are supporting the motion.

The parties who backed the no-confidence motion are Congress, Trinamool Congress, Nationalist Congress Party, Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party and CPI-M.

This was the first time in 15 years that a no-confidence motion against the government was moved and accepted in Lok Sabha.
