Water and Power Development Authority has clarified for public awareness that in compliance with the Supreme Court’s orders for construction of two mega dams, the donated funds will be collected in the head of “DIAMER BASHA AND MOHMAND DAM FUND- 2018” in all scheduled banks.

A spokesperson of the Authority said in this regard that neither WAPDA nor any other organization has been authorized to collect donations.

According to media reports, some persons were involved in using the name of WAPDA for collection of funds, and have since been arrested and being dealt under the law.

WAPDA spokesperson has appealed to public that any person demanding funds for dams while using the name of WAPDA may not be entertained and report the matter immediately to the law enforcement agencies.
