In Syria, US-backed forces are close to the last pocket of Daesh fighters in the village of Baghouz near the Iraqi border ahead of a victory declaration.

Syrian Democratic Forces have said Daesh fighters defending their last scrap of territory have no choice but to surrender.

The SDF Spokesman Mustefa Bali said the alliance is still working to get civilians out.
