Pakistan People's Party is observing seventh anniversary of the Karsaz tragedy today.

A public meeting has been arranged in Karachi in this regard to pay homage to the martyrs of the incident.

Fool proof security arrangements have been made to meet any untoward incident.

Seven years back on this day, former Prime Minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and her procession were attacked at Karsaz in Karachi resulting in deaths of 150 workers and injuring several others.

Meanwhile, Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police Ghulam Haider Jamali has said that unusual security arrangements have been made to protect the life and property of the citizens on the eve of public meeting being held in Karachi today.

Talking to media men in Karachi today he said that police is looking after over all law and order situation and additional police have been deployed on the routes of the caravans  and in and around of the venue of public meeting at Mazar-e-Quaid.

He said enhancing police patrolling, strict snap checking and monitoring is also being carried out. In addition sweeping, scanning and searching of the venue of the public meeting have also been undertaken.
