Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has resolved to implement PML-N government's agenda of socio-economic uplift, progress and prosperity of the people.

He was addressing a meeting in Lahore on Saturday, which reviewed the overall process of rehabilitation of the flood-hit people and development projects in the country.

The Prime Minister said the government is committed to steer the country out of the crises it is facing today and put it on the path to progress.

He reiterated his government's commitment to achieve all set targets and fulfill promises made with the nation during its constitutional tenure.

The Prime Minister said an era of an overall development of the country has begun with start of the present PML-N government, while some elements are aimlessly causing hindrances to halt this process. However, he categorically stated that no one would be allowed to stop this journey of progress.

Talking about the initiatives of the Punjab Government, taken for the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the affectees of the rains and flood, the Prime Minister highly appreciated them, and said that the Provincial Chief Minister himself worked day and night in this regard, which is recommendable.

Earlier, in his briefing, Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif told the meeting that the first-phased installment of 25 thousand rupees has been paid to the flood affectees as a compensation amount till the 5th of this month.

Shahbaz Sharif said, at present, the process of the survey of the losses, caused by the rains and flood water to the crops, cattle, houses, buildings, roads and infrastructure, is in the final stage of the completion. Now, the second-phased compensation amount payment is to begin in the 16 badly-affected districts of the province on Monday, October 20.

He added the compensation amount is being contributed equally by the Punjab and the Federal Government, for which the Provincial Government is thankful to the Prime Minister.

The CM Punjab said a number of development projects have been launched in the province, while some of them have been completed as per their record minimum period. He vowed that the progress journey would continue also in future under the dynamic leadership of prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif .

In order to ensure transparency and affective monitoring of the development projects, the chief minister said that third-party audit has been introduced in the province.

During the meeting, the Director General of the Lahore development authority (LDA) briefed about various development projects in the Lahore division. On the timely completion of the Azadi Chowk project as per its standard, the Prime Minister appreciated him.
