According to the Report, Pakistan’s economy maintained its momentum towards a higher growth trajectory in FY16, as higher infrastructure spending by the government and decades low interest rates provided a boost to domestic demand. Side by side, improvements in energy supply and the security situation also supported this momentum.

Chinese delegation visits ICCI to explore joint ventures, business opportunities

A 12 member delegation of Chinese companies led by Wang Zihai, President, Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry Friday visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) to explore possibilities of joint ventures and business opportunities in various sectors of Pakistan’s economy. The delegation was representing energy, real estate and construction, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, textiles industry, agriculture science and technology, furniture, fertilizers, cement and others sectors.

Erdogan urges Turkish businessmen to invest in CPEC projects

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday urged the Turkish businessmen to invest in China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects of Pakistan saying that the CPEC was a game changer for the region. He stated this while addressing the Pakistan-Turkey Roundtable Investment Conference here. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chairman Board of Investment Dr Miftah Ismail also spoke on the occasion. The conference was attended among others by federal ministers, diplomats, business representatives of the two countries and members of the Turkish delegation.
