Pakistan has urged the Afghan government to ensure early recovery of the officials of its Jalalabad Consulate General who went missing while coming to their country on Friday.
In a statement, Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said on Sunday that Islamabad is in constant touch with Afghan authorities for safe recovery of two officials.
He said the Afghan authorities have informed that three distinct investigating groups have been constituted to ensure safe recovery of the officials.

Construction work of Chashma Right Bank Canal in Dera Ismail Khan will be started this year.
Official sources told Radio Pakistan Peshawar correspondent, that the project will be completed at a cost of one hundred and twenty billion rupees. Sixty five percent of the amount will be provided by the federal government.
On completion, the canal will bring two lakh and eighty-six thousand acres of barren land under cultivation in Dera Ismail Khan and Tank districts.
The Punjab Government has launched crackdown against unqualified medical practitioners and quacks in the province.
According to official sources, the Provincial Healthcare Commission has established an anti-quackery cell which has largely curtailed such malpractices.
A comprehensive process of screening of all Healthcare Establishments was done by the commission to identify and take action against the illegal practitioners and quacks.
Moreover licensing is made mandatory and no Healthcare Establishment can function or operate without prior permission from the Commission.
