Pakistan has urged the Afghan government to ensure early recovery of the officials of its Jalalabad Consulate General who went missing while coming to their country on Friday.

 

In a statement, Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said on Sunday that Islamabad is in constant touch with Afghan authorities for safe recovery of two officials.

 

He said the Afghan authorities have informed that three distinct investigating groups have been constituted to ensure safe recovery of the officials.

            

PM-DEPARTURE:

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has left for Saudi Arabia on a private visit.

   

He will perform Umrah and offer prayers during the last days of the Holy Month of Ramazan.

  

The Prime Minster is travelling on a commercial flight along with his family members.

                

MARRIYUM:

Pakistan is keen to introduce screen tourism to highlight its cultural diversity and scenic beauty at the international level.

   

This was stated by Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb in an interview.  

   

She said that revival of Pakistan's film industry is prerequisite for screen tourism to showcase country's true culture and heritage.   

     

The minister of state said the trend of screen tourism is increasing worldwide to attract tourists from across the globe.

     

Marriyum Aurangzeb said Pakistan should be recognized as a peace loving country among the nations, and films can play a critical role to achieve that objective.

                        

CRBC:

Construction work of Chashma Right Bank Canal in Dera Ismail Khan will be started this year. 

 

Official sources told Radio Pakistan Peshawar correspondent, that the project will be completed at a cost of one hundred and twenty billion rupees. Sixty five percent of the amount will be provided by the federal government.

 

On completion, the canal will bring two lakh and eighty-six thousand acres of barren land under cultivation in Dera Ismail Khan and Tank districts.

The Punjab Government has launched crackdown against unqualified medical practitioners and quacks in the province. 

 

According to official sources, the Provincial Healthcare Commission has established an anti-quackery cell which has largely curtailed such malpractices. 

 

A comprehensive process of screening of all Healthcare Establishments was done by the commission to identify and take action against the illegal practitioners and quacks.

 

Moreover licensing is made mandatory and no Healthcare Establishment can function or operate without prior permission from the Commission.

                    

KASHMIR

In Occupied Kashmir, the Indian authorities continued to impose curfew and other restrictions in Srinagar and other parts of the territory to prevent protests against the brutal killings by troops in Kulgam district.

 

The authorities once again placed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq under house arrest.

                  

BREXIT

Negotiations on Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union will begin between British and European officials in Brussels, on Monday.

 

Britain voted by fifty two per cent in favour of leaving the European Union in a referendum last year.

    

ICC:

The final of the ICC Champions Trophy will be played between Pakistan and arch-rivals India at the Oval on Sunday afternoon.         

 

The match will start at 1430 hours Pakistan Standard Time.

 

HOCKEY

In the Hockey World League Qualifiers, Pakistan will play against India while England will take on Argentine at London on Sunday evening.
