AJK Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad continued general debate on budget proposals for the fiscal year 2017-18 on the second consecutive day on Sunday.

Members from treasury benches in their speeches thanked federal government for including major projects in its development programme for AJK.

They said out of development funds, 86 percent have been allocated for the ongoing 154 schemes while 32 percent for new development schemes.

The government allocated over 22 billion rupees for education and over 6 billion rupees for the health sectors besides proper allocations for all other sectors.

They hoped such major projects in communication, hydel power generation and tourism sectors will usher in a new era of development in the state.

Opposition members criticized government for neglecting them in development schemes and demanded an equal share in these.
