Rain with thunderstorm occurred at isolated places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Hazara, Peshawar divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Wednesday morning ending a long, dry and hot spell in the country.   

Murree received 27 millimeter rain, Balakot 25, Kakul 16, Chirat 14 and Islamabad 12 millimeter.

Meteorological Department has predicted more isolated rains with thunderstorm in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Hazara divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 12 hours.

However, mainly hot and dry weather is likely to continue elsewhere in the country.

Temperature of some major cities recorded on Wednesday morning was:

Islamabad 23 degree centigrade, Lahore 31, Karachi 30, Peshawar 27, Quetta 19, Gilgit 22, Murree 16 and Muzaffarabad 24 degree centigrade.

According to the synoptic situation, a low lies over central and upper parts of the country. Moist currents from Arabian Sea are penetrating into upper parts of the country.

Turbat 50°C, Sibbi 49°C, Jacobabad, Bhakkar, Dadu 47°C, Sukkur, Rohri, Mohenjo-Daro, Bannu, D.G.Khan, Noorpur Thal, Larkana 46°C, Bahawalnagar, Jhelum, Sh. Benazirabad and R.Y. Khan 45°C were remained in the severe grip of heat during the last 24 hours.
