Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif leaves for Saudi Arabia today in the broader interest of Muslim Ummah. He

will also visit Iran tomorrow. 

A statement issued by Foreign Office said a high-level delegation will also accompany the prime minister.

The statement said Pakistan has deep rooted and brotherly relations with both Saudi Arabia and Iran and it is concerned over ongoing tension between the two Muslim countries.

It said the Prime Minister wants to defuse tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran in a peaceful manner.

Meanwhile, leading politicians and analysts have hailed the Prime Minister's visit to Saudi Arabia and Iran.

They described it as a timely move to defuse tension between the two Muslim countries.

They hoped that mediation by Pakistan will help normalize the situation.

They described the visit as a wise step in the best interest of whole Muslim Ummah.
