Ban on poultry export to UAE will be lifted shortly, NA informed
The National Assembly was informed today that over two million Pakistanis went abroad for employment during tenure of the present government.
This was stated by Parliamentary Secretary for Inter-Provincial Coordination Muhammad Shafqat Hayat Khan while responding to questions in the National Assembly this afternoon.
He said Memorandum of Understandings have been signed with Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and UAE in the field of export of manpower.
To a question, he said Pakistan is pursuing an aggressive market strategy to gain greater market share in South Africa through participation in larger number of exhibitions.
He said the signing of PTA with Indonesia has borne fruits as exports to that country increased from 123 million dollars in 2013-14 to 143 million dollars last financial year.
The Minister for Commerce said due to persistent efforts of the government, ban on export of Pakistan poultry to UAE will be lifted shortly.
Khurram Dastgir said next meeting of Pakistan and China is scheduled for next month for the second phase of FTA. Responding to a calling attention notice, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad said instructions have been issued to National Highway Authority to complete Lowari Tunnel by 2017.
He said design of the tunnel has been changed to accommodate two-way traffic. The National Assembly today passed two bills.
These are: The Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2015" and "The Income Tax (Second Amendment) Bill, 2015".
