The Government has taken various steps to eliminate load-shedding in the country by the year 2018.


According to official sources, the Government is focusing on exploring, acquiring and utilizing affordable, sustainable and modern energy resources.


Under China Pakistan Economic Corridor, electricity generation projects having total capacity of 17045 MW are being implemented. These include Wind, Solar, Hydro and Coal generation projects.



A three-day anti-polio vaccination campaign will begin in Punjab from on Monday.  


Eighteen point four million children below the age of five years would be administered polio drop.


Meanwhile, three day anti-polio campaign will also start in Balochistan and district Gilgit from on Monday.


During the campaign, nearly two point five million children below five year of age in Balochistan while more than forty thousand children in Gilgit would be administered anti polio drops.        



Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif says Pakistan is moving towards the destination of a peaceful, secure and bright country. 


He was talking to Chairman Turkish Investment Group Ahmet Albayrak in Lahore on Sunday.


The Chief Minister said People of Pakistan and Turkey are tied in historical brotherly relations.


During the meeting, Ahmet Albayrak expressed his interest for investing in the housing sector and for the development of social sector in the province.



The Ambassador of Pakistan to France Moin ul Haque says Pakistan is fully committed to safeguarding the rights and privileges enjoyed by all minorities.


He was speaking at a Christmas dinner arranged b y the Embassy of Pakistan in Paris tonight.

Pakistan International Airline operated a C-130 flight for passengers between Islamabad and Gilgit on Sunday.


Official sources told our Gilgit correspondent, the C-130 flight will continue its operation from Islamabad to Gilgit till completion of ATR Plane checking.

In Occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that Kashmir is an internationally accepted dispute, which even has been acknowledged by the Parliament of India.


Reacting to the Indian Supreme Court’s verdict that Jammu Kashmir had no vestige of sovereignty outside the constitution of India, Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement termed the verdict as of no consequence.


The JKLF Chief said the pledges made to Kashmiris by Indian leaders including first Indian Prime Minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru bear testimony to the fact of it being a dispute that needs a resolution.
