Committee for National Action Plan against terrorism meets today
Political parties have nominated their representatives for the Committee.
Committee for National Action Plan against Terrorism would hold its first meeting in Islamabad today (Friday).
Different political parties represented in the Parliament have nominated their representatives for the Committee, which would be headed by Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan.
PPP has nominated Senator Rehman Malik, PTI Shireen Mazari and JUI (F) Akram Durrani. MQM has proposed names of Dr. Farooq Sattar and Senator Babar Ghauri while Jamaat-e-Islami has nominated Farid Paracha for the Committee. Qaumi Watan Party has nominated Anisa Tahir Kheli and PML(Q) Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed.
The Committee formed at the meeting of the leaders of Parliamentary parties in Peshawar yesterday will submit its recommendations to the political and military leadership within seven days.
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami chief Siraj-ul-Haq has lauded the formulation of the parliamentary committee to prepare a National Action Plan to counter terrorism in an effective manner.
Talking to newsmen in Peshawar on Thursday, he said Peshawar tragedy has united all the political forces.
