President Dr. Arif Alvi has said substantial steps need to be taken to save upcoming generations from effects of climate change.

Addressing inaugural ceremony of art exhibition titled "Art for Climate Change" at Pakistan National Council of Arts in Islamabad today (Tuesday), he said art plays an important role to highlight social issues.

The President said improved security situation in the country has increased number of visiting tourists. 

He regretted that climate change has affected tourism areas in Pakistan badly. He urged the nation to develop sense of responsibility and plant trees and grow vegetables at home.

Later, the President visited the art gallery and witnessed the art work depicting importance of climate change. He appreciated all the artists and organizers of the event.

The exhibition will continue till 31st of this month.
