In Afghanistan, at least 18 people were killed and nearly 50 others were wounded in two blasts inside a mosque in Nangarhar province during Friday prayers today.

Officials say the incident took place at approximately 2 pm local time in the Jaw Dara area of Haska Meyna district.

The death count could rise. Most of the wounded have been shifted to hospitals for medical treatment.

No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the blasts.
