South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha will meet with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi in Seoul on Tuesday, as Seoul's policy on global refugees has drawn keen attention since the arrival of hundreds of Yemeni people on its soil in May.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that officials will exchange views on pending major issues related to refugees worldwide and ways to strengthen cooperation.
On Wednesday, the government granted temporary stay permits to hundreds of Yemeni asylum seekers after months of screening.
They are allowed to remain in South Korea for a year.
