Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunications has directed Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to extend deadline for one month about blocking of un-registered IMEI mobile phones.

The Committee met with Senator Rubina Khalid in the chair discussed the deadline of blocking non-compliant devices which was fixed at 20th of this month.

The Committee sought more details on the issue and directed PTA to extend the deadline for one month.
