Commander of the US and NATO forces in Afghanistan, General Scott Miller says negotiations in Doha are very promising and important for the Afghan people but there is dire need to bring the militant violence down.

He was speaking during a visit to Laghman province alongside Afghan acting Defense Minister Assadullah Khalid.

On the occasion, Asadullah Khalid expressed hope that ceasefire with the Taliban would be agreed in the coming days.
