Congo: Ebola outbreak declared global health emergency by WHO
July 18, 2019

The World Health Organization has declared the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo a public health emergency of international concern.

The WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a statement that it is time for the world to take notice to get rid from this epidemic disease.

More than 1,600 people have died from Ebola since August 1, when the haemorrhagic virus erupted in Congo's North Kivu and spread to neighbouring Ituri.
