JRL urges HR bodies to visit Tihar, IOK jails
July 18, 2018

In occupied Kashmir, the Joint Resistance Leadership has appealed to all global human rights organizations to conduct a thorough visit of various jails of India and the occupied territory to take the notice of the ill treatment meted out to the Kashmiri prisoners.

The leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement in Srinagar termed the shifting of Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chief, Aasiya Andrabi, and her two associates to New Delhi’s Tihar jail under 30-days judicial custody as sheer political vendetta, saying the move is aimed at building pressure on the resistance leaders to force them into submission.

The JRL said that the Kashmiri prisoners languishing in Tihar, Kot Bhalwal, Kathua and Udhampur jails of Jammu are being treated inhumanly and denied basic medical aid, which should serve an eye-opener for the international community.
