Israel has advanced plans to build additional 780 homes in occupied West Bank settlements.

The homes lay deep inside the West Bank, which the Palestinians seek as the heartland of their future independent state.

A spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the construction as illegal and termed it as a pre-emptive attempt to undermine any effort by incoming US President Joe Biden to re-launch the stalled peace process.
