Dr. Zafar Nawaz Jaspal (IR Expert):
The Foreign Minister held fruitful meetings with the officials of Trump administration. Earlier, Shah Mehmood Qureshi visited Middle Eastern countries and held meeting with the senior leadership of Iran, Oman, Saudi Arabia and other countries keeping in view the prevailing tense regional situation. Pakistan is making all out efforts to ensure the regional peace which is commendable. Pakistan, at its end, is effectively perusing Kashmir dispute at diplomatic level. It is an achievement that UNSC meeting over Kashmir issue held twice after a gap of over 50 years.
Dr. Farhat Haq (IR Expert):
The international media is focusing on impeachment of US President Donald Trump. It is the need of time that Pakistan must revive its bilateral relations with the United States. The regional situation for the last two weeks after the killing of Iranian General Qasim Sulemani has become critical. The US people are not supporting any war at the time. Donald Trump is an unpredictable personality. It is good development that Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is presenting Pakistan as peace-loving country.
Dr. Talat Wazarat (IR Expert):
Kashmir is main bone of contention between India and Pakistan. India is committing human rights violations and genocide in the held Kashmir. The minorities within India are not feeling safe under the leadership of an extremist leader Modi. It is point of concern that in the 21st centuries what kind of rulers is ruling India. The world is not exerting enough pressure on India to stop it from pursuing its aggressive policies. India will be forced to change its attitude if the world imposes economic sanctions on Indian government.
Brig (Retd) Harris Nawaz (Defense Analyst):
Although the international pressure is increasing on India but it is France that is giving undue favor to India. It is the need that Pakistan should send its envoys and delegations to France in order to convey the French leadership about the opinion and stance of Pakistan over Kashmir issue. As far as overall situation is concerned, the ice is melting and mood of the world has been changing over Kashmir issue. Pakistan can play an important role in bringing the Middle East prevailing situation towards normalization. Pakistan urged the world to take positive steps to resolve Afghanistan situation. Afghan Taliban wants immediate withdrawal of NATO forces whereas the US and Afghan government are not in favor of complete withdrawal of US forces and its allies in order to keep law and order situation in war-torn country.
Lt Gen (Retd) Naeem Khalid Lodhi (Defense Analyst):
If we analyze the overall situation in the world it will be clear that only Muslim countries are under oppression of anti-Islamic forces. Other than Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey and some other out of 56 Muslim countries, are under the control of anti-Muslim elements including Iraq and Syria. The Pakistani leadership needs to understand the sensitivity of the situation and must take measures in this regard. Pakistan has the world's best armed forces and has ability to respond any aggression from the enemies. Pakistan gives respect to minorities and provides them their religious rights. Indian allegations regarding the security and safety of minorities are totally baseless.
Dr. Amna Mehmood (IR Expert):
The role of Pakistan is positive not only in the regional but in international politics as well. Pakistan, as usual, is willing to play its role to bring peace and stability in the region. Islamabad has expressed concerned over anarchy in Middle East region as it wants to have strong bilateral relations with all the neighboring countries. The visit of Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to Middle East and the United States is vital as he urged for regional peace and stability.
