China has asked Security Council to review sanctions against Sudan after improvement of situation in its Darfur region.

China's deputy permanent representative to United Nations, Wu Haitao said overall security situation in Darfur remains stable and Sudanese government is working on its reconstruction.

The Chinese representative called for international humanitarian assistance and economic support for Sudan.
