IMB lauds efforts for polio eradication in FATA

An international monitoring body for polio eradication, Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) has lauded the successful efforts of the political administration for polio eradication in FATA.
In a meeting in Abu Dhabi, representatives from all the four provinces and FATA were invited to discuss the issues relating to polio eradication.
The meeting was informed that under the leadership of Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, accessibility has improved considerably in the last six months particularly in critical agencies of Khyber, South Waziristan and North Waziristan.
The administration is now in a position to conduct door to door campaign in South Waziristan, FR Bannu, Bara Khyber Agency and parts of North Waziristan.
In 2014, there were forty five cases of polio from FATA while in the corresponding time of 2015 there are only six cases of polio from FATA.
This shows that polio cases have been reduced eighty six percent in FATA.
