Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet has decided to extend the export period of wheat and wheat products till 31st August this year.
The committee made the decision at its meeting in Islamabad today with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair.
Only those wheat exporters, who have already shifted wheat from go-downs of food departments prior to 15th March this year will be allowed to benefit from this extension.
The ECC also accorded approval to another proposal of Ministry of National Food Security and Research regarding outstanding claims of PASSCO on account of wheat supplied to Afghanistan.
The ECC considered a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Commerce regarding the Prime Minister's Package of Incentives for Exporters and extended the date of submission of claims till 30th September this year for shipments and exports made up to 30th of this month.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has invited Saudi investors to take advantage of opportunities and incentives being provided by Pakistan to foreign investors.
He was talking to Saudi Ambassador-designate to Pakistan, Commodore Nawaf Saeed Ahmed Al-Malkiy, who called on him in Islamabad today.
During the meeting, matters pertaining to bilateral relations and cooperation in different fields came under discussion.
The Finance Minister appreciated the continued support of the Saudi Government for projects aimed at economic development in Pakistan.
He urged Saudi investors to avail the investment opportunities particularly in the petrochemical industry, offered under the liberal investment regime of the present government.
Saudi Ambassador designate said he would be keen on promoting greater presence of Saudi investors and companies in Pakistan with a view to further bolster the current level of bilateral economic cooperation.
Pakistan opened Kharlachi Crossing with Afghanistan in Kurram Agency today.
According to Foreign Office Spokesperson, the decision reflects Pakistan's continued efforts to facilitate Afghan transit and trade through Pakistan.
He said that this is not a pedestrians crossing, but is meant for facilitation of trade and transit vehicles.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif today recorded his statement, before the JIT, probing Panama papers' case in Islamabad.

Higher Education Commission has launched a new portal for online registration and creation of account for attestation of degrees while sitting at home.
According to official sources, the system has been evolved to facilitate degree holders with a hassle-free mechanism where the applicant will no longer have to stand in queues for attestation of their documents.
The applicant may now fill an online application form and upload his or her scanned documents.
After submission, the application will initially be scrutinized online by HEC. The applicant will then receive an email or SMS to schedule his visit at one of HEC offices in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar or Quetta.
Martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) is being observed with due solemnity today.
Various programmes have been chalked out in connection with the day where Ulema and scholars will shed light on the life and services of Hazrat Ali (RA) for Islam.
In Lahore, Karachi, Quetta , Gilgat and other cities mouring processions were taken out in connection with the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (R.A.).
Special arrangements have been made to provide security to the mourners attending majalis and processions.
In Occupied Kashmir, tens of thousands of people participated in the funeral prayers of martyred youth, Junaid Mattoo, Nasir Wani and Aadil Mushtaq in different areas today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the funeral prayers of the martyred youth were held in Islamabad, Shopian and Pampore areas. The mourners raised high-pitched pro-freedom, pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans. The martyred youth were laid to rest after being shrouded in Pakistani flag.
The authorities made heavy deployment of Indian police and troops in all major towns to prevent the protests.
Complete shutdown was observed in the Occupied territory against the killings to register protest on the call of the joint resistance leadership.
Meanwhile, six Indian policemen, including a station house officer, have been killed in an attack in Islamabad District.
The killing occurred when some unknown attackers opened fire on a police party travelling in a vehicle in Achabal area of the district.
The final of the ICC Champions Trophy will be played between Pakistan and arch-rival India at the Oval tomorrow.
Pakistan has qualified first time for the final of the tournament, while India has won two titles of the Champions Trophy.
The match will start at 1430 hours Pakistan Standard Time.
