COURT  

The Supreme Court resumed hearing of Panama Papers case  on Monday.

 The three-member implementation bench of the apex court headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan is hearing the case.

The Joint Investigation Team constituted to probe the Panama Papers case had submitted its report before the bench last Monday.

Sharif family submitted its objections to the JIT report this morning.

PESHAWAR BLAST

An officer of Frontier Corps Major Jamal Sheran, was martyred and seven people, including three FC personnel, injured when their vehicle was hit by a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle near Bagh-e-Naran in Hayatabad Peshawar this morning.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack.

He expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Major Jamal Sheran and prayed for eternal peace of his departed soul and grant of courage to the bereaved family.

He directed the authorities to hunt down the perpetrators of this heinous act and bring them to justice. He also directed the provincial government to provide best medical treatment to the injured.

He said elements involved in terrorist attacks deserve no mercy and will meet their fate soon in view of the unflinching and united resolve of the entire nation against terrorism and extremism.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra also condemned the attack and prayed for the departed souls.

SENATE   

The 264th session of the Senate begins at the parliament house in Islamabad at four this afternoon.

The house will discuss important national issues besides transacting legislative business.

MINISTER  

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Irrigation Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao says all-out efforts are being made for development of southern districts of the province.

Talking to media in Dera Ismail Khan, he said Dera Ismail Khan has one of the largest irrigation systems in the province and concrete steps are being taken for its betterment.  

He said various development projects will be completed in the area at a cost of five hundred million rupees to irrigate barren lands and to facilitate farmers in the area.            

POLIO

Four day anti-polio vaccination drive began in eight districts of Balochistan  on Monday.

The drive is being conducted in districts of Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Zhob, Loralai, Barkhan, Qila Saifullah, Musa Khel and Sherani.     

During the campaign, more than six hundred thousand children below the age of five will be administered polio drops.

Eighteen hundred teams have been constituted for the purpose.

LOAN

The federal government has provided loans worth four hundred and forty-five million rupees to tribal youth to start their own businesses.

A spokesman of FATA Development Authority told our Peshawar correspondent that so far sixteen thousand and eight hundred youth have been provided loan.

The loan is being given to the youth who have completed technical training in different trades.

DAY   

World Day for International Justice is being observed  on Monday.

 It marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Rome Statute on this day in 1998 which seeks to protect people from genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and the crime of aggression.  

GILANI

In occupied Kashmir, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Gilani has paid rich tributes to three youth martyred by Indian troops in Tral.

In a statement in Srinagar, he said the Indian authorities have created appalling situation in the territory.  

INDIA-POLL

In India, voting has begun for Presidential election.

The two candidates, including ruling National Democratic Alliance's nominee and  former Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind and the opposition's candidate and former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar are contesting the election.

A total of 4,896 voters, including 776 Members of Parliaments and 4,120 state assembly members are eligible to cast their ballot.

TURKEY-MISSILE

Turkey has signed a missile defense deal with French and Italian firms.

The deal encompassed the development and joint production of missile defense systems.                   

NATO-TURKEY

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has called on Turkey and Germany to put an end to their dispute over lawmakers' visiting Turkish air bases.  

The disagreement between the two countries began after Turkey refused to allow German lawmakers to visit military personnel at Incirlik and Konya bases.
