PM strongly condemns terrorist attack in Peshawar
FC Major martyred in the attack; seven others including three FC personnel injured
An officer of the Frontier Corps, Major Jamal Sheran, was martyred and 7 people, including three FC personnel were injured when their vehicle was hit by a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle near Bagh-e-Naran in Hayatabad Peshawar on Monday.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack.
He expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Major Jamal Sheran and prayed for the eternal peace the departed soul and grant of courage to the bereaved family.
The Prime Minister said elements involved in terrorist attacks deserve no mercy and will meet their fate soon in view of the unflinching and united resolve of the entire nation against terrorism and extremism.
He directed the authorities to hunt down the perpetrators of this heinous act and bring them to justice. He also directed the provincial government to provide best medical treatment to those injured in the incident.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra also condemned the attack and prayed for the departed souls.
