A three member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal, is hearing the case. Presenting his arguments Khawaja Haris, the counsel for Sharif Family, submitted that the JIT report has no substantive evidence against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family; hence it should be rejected. Earlier, PTI Lawyer Naeem Bukhari and Jamaat-e-Islami Lawer Tausif Asif presented their arguments on the findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the JIT report.

Sharif Family counsel rejects JIT report contents, compiling procedure: Daniyal 

Leader PML-N, Daniyal Aziz says counsel for Sharif Family Khawaja Haris has categorically rejected in the Supreme Court, the contents and procedure adopted by JIT in compiling the report. The counsel has also requested the SC that nothing should be against the law, and accordingly the JIT report should be rejected and the case against Sharif Family be dismissed. Talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court after adjournment of the case, Daniyal Aziz says nothing happened during today’s hearing.

An officer of Frontier Corps, Major Jamal Sheran, was martyred and seven people, including three FC personnel were injured when their vehicle was hit by a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle near Bagh-e-Naran in Hayatabad Peshawar. PM directs the authorities to hunt down the perpetrators of this heinous act and bring them to justice. He also directed the provincial government to provide best medical treatment to the injured.

South Korea proposes military talks with North Korea to end hostile activities

South Korea has offered military and Red Cross talks with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to ease military tensions along the inter-Korean border. In a statement Vice Defense Minister Suh Choo-suk in Seoul said dialogue was aimed to stop all hostile acts that escalate military tensions near the military demarcation line dividing the two sides.

Merkel refuses to place a limit on refugees

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has refused to place a limit on refugees. In an interview, she said the numbers of refugees could only be reduced by regulation. She said actions can be taken to prevent people to flee one country for another.
