Four children playing on a beach near Gaza city were among the dead.

A total of one thousand five hundred and seventy people have been wounded in the Israeli strikes.

President Barack Obama in a statement said the United States supports Egypt's continued efforts to restore the 2012 cease-fire agreement.

Meanwhile, Hamas and Israel have agreed to observe a five-hour ceasefire in Gaza.

The Israeli military said it would stop attacks from 10:00 to 15:00 local time on Thursday to allow residents in Gaza to stock up on supplies.
