Aizaz calls for Pakistan-Afghanistan talks to resolve terrorism issue
Foreign Secretary urges Afghanistan to take concrete steps to curb terrorist hideouts on its soil.
Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhary has said that Pakistan is serious to initiate talks with Afghanistan at diplomatic and political level to resolve the issue of terrorism.
In an interview with PTV on Friday, he said that although, Afghanistan has extended its condolences on recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan, but it is not enough and Afghan authorities should take concrete steps to curb terrorists' hideouts on their side.
He said growing presence of ISIS in Afghanistan is not only a matter of concern for Pakistan but Russia and China has also expressed their apprehensions and Afghanistan should cooperate with us for elimination these elements.
To a question, Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said Pakistan is working on effective border management with Afghanistan but they are not cooperating.
He said Pakistan will not allow anyone to use its soil against others, but it is also a responsibility of Afghanistan to take effective measures on their side in this regard.
To a question, he said Pakistan's wish for peace must not be taken as weakness and we want amicable resolution of all the issue with neighbours.
To a question, Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said Pakistan has also urged the United States to play its role for eradication of terrorists form Afghan land.
