Pakistan to be amongst 20 leading economies of world by 2030: Ahsan

Government is striving hard to turn low value addition products to high value addition. Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has expressed the confidence that Pakistan will be amongst 20 leading economies of the world by 2030.

WB predicts Pakistan economy to grow at 5.2pc in 2017

With growth prospects continuing to improve and inflation remaining contained, Pakistan economy would continue to grow at 5.2 percent in 2017, the World Bank (WB) predicted in its recent report. 

Budget to be announced on May 26

The government has decided to announce the budget for financial year 2017-18 on Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says the announcement of the budget had been pulled earlier because Ramazan was expected to begin on May 28, adding that preparations were being made accordingly.

Rupee strengthens against euro

In the local currency market last week, experts said the rupee may come under pressure due to a widening trade deficit.
The rupee ended firm versus the dollar in the interbank on the back of sufficient liquidity with banks amid low demand from importers and the corporate sector.
