Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Pakistan will usher in a new era of bilateral relations.

Taking part in Radio Pakistan's Nuqta-e Nazar program, he said agreements for several huge projects in energy, communication, and infrastructure fields would be signed during the visit.

He said the total Chinese investment would be equal to 42 billion dollars.

Federal Minister Lt. General (R) Abdul Qadir Baloch said: “We have deeper relations with China and the visit of Chinese President is very important bilateral relations of Pakistan and China. This visit will be helpful to boost up our economy. During the visit of Chinese president, several projects will be signed including Pak-China Economic Corridor.”

Former DG, ISPR Major General (Retd.) Athar Abbas said: “China always supports Pakistan and this visit is very important. This visit should have been held last year but unfortunately due to political and security issues the visit of Chinese president was canceled. This visit will provide a platform to enhance our economy. China is helping in different sectors including defense and energy projects.”

Economist Dr. Shahid Hassan Siddiqui said: “The visit of Chinese President will bring happiness and prosperity in Pakistan. We can improve our economy by enhancing taxes inside the country. Government and general public can join hands to make things better in the country. Pakistan lies at a very important geographic location in the region. The construction of Pak-China Economic Corridor is in favor of Pakistan as well as China. Pakistan and China’s leadership can bring prosperity in the region. China is to invest a huge amount in various development projects in Pakistan.”

Analyst Dr. Huma Baqai said: “The visit of Chinese president is quite significant for Pakistan. Around 46 billion dollars investment is expected from the upcoming visit of Chinese President. During his visit, he will sign several agreements including projects of defense and energy sectors. It is first time in the history of Pakistan that Chinese companies will directly invest in Pakistan. This huge investment will trigger an economic revolution in the country.”
