Pakistan and the United States have announced to launch joint efforts to eliminate toxic fungus causing liver cancer and stunting in children.

The resolve to this effect was expressed at launch of a program "Safer Food through Aflatoxin Control" in Islamabad on Wednesday. The programme was jointly launched by USAID, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council and private businesses.

The joint effort is aimed at improving nutrition and safeguarding health of Pakistani citizens by securing a disease free food supply.
