British MPs laud role of Pakistan in war against terrorism

Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor visited British Parliament in London and briefed the parliamentarians about the Pakistan Army's role in the war against terrorism.

A statement of Pakistan High Commission in London said that he visited the British Parliament at the invitation of the parliamentarians of House of Commons and House of Lords.

On the occasion, the British Parliamentarians highly appreciated the role of Pakistan in the war against terrorism.

Lord Nazir Ahmed and Baroness Syeeda Warsi were also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the Warwick University in London, Director General Inter Services Public Relations, has said Pakistan wants that the United States should stay in Afghanistan till restoration of complete peace there.

He stressed that stability in Afghanistan is imperative for durable peace in Pakistan and the region.

He said world would have not defeated the Al-Qaeda without the help of Pakistan.

Major General Asif Ghafoor said world should be thankful to Pakistan for eliminating terrorism, and added that his country rendered unmatched sacrifices for achieving peace in the region.                     

The DG ISPR said there is a significant decrease in terrorist activities in Pakistan due to effective operation of Pakistan Army.
