World Emoji Day was celebrated on Tuesday.

The day is held on July 17 each year.

The purpose of World Emoji Day is to promote the use of emojis and spread the enjoyment that they bring to all of those around us.

World Emoji Day is the brainchild of Jeremy Burge who stated that London-based founder of Emojipedia created it in 2014.
