Ecuador has agreed to allow the US military planes to operate from an airport on the Galapagos Islands which are part of Ecuador`s territory.                          

Under the agreement, both countries will fight drug trafficking while the US aircrafts will be able to use San Cristobal airport. 

The reported deal has prompted concerns over the potential impact on environment and Ecuador's sovereignty.
