In Tennis, defending champion Roger Federer reached the third round of Australian Open for a 20th straight year, beating Britain's Dan Evans  7-6,  7-6, 6-3 in Melbourne.   

Defending woman champion Caroline Wozniacki was also safely sailed through. But it was curtains for South African fifth seed Kevin Anderson, who slumped out to young American Frances Tiafoe.
