Brigadier, retired, Said Nazir (Defense Analysts): National narrative and human resource are vital to eliminate terrorism.  Religious scholars and political leadership should promote the two-nation ideology advocated by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.  The government should utilize all available sources to implement narrative against all anti-state elements, which were engaged in hatching conspiracies against Pakistan.  All segments of society should make joint effort to eliminate the menace of terrorism.

Dr. Rasheed Ahmed Khan (IR Expert): Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has rightly said that regular dialogue between Pakistan and the United States is continuing at all levels. The recent visit of Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Ambassador Alice Wells to Pakistan and talks with Pakistani leadership remained very “fruitful.” Various circles in the United States are in favor of “positive engagement” between Islamabad and Washington.  Both the countries should remove their misperceptions and misunderstanding through meaningful talks.  Islamabad and Washington should work together to eliminate common threats like terrorism and extremism. The United States had given India an enhanced role in Afghanistan during its policy for Afghanistan announced in August last year.  The United States cannot promote peace and stability in Afghanistan without the cooperation of Pakistan.

Brigadier, retired, Tipu Sultan (Defense Analyst):  There is a need of unity to tackle the challenges of terrorism, extremism and sectarianism.  The government has taken the right step by launching the national narrative against terrorism.   Entire nation should make joint efforts to eliminate the menace of terrorism and promote peace in the country.  Pakistan is faced with multiple internal and external threats, and all segments of society should work together to overcome national challenges. Religious scholars, members of civil society and media have to play important to eliminate threats emanating from terrorism. Pakistan has achieved tremendous successes in the fight against terrorism, which should be acknowledged by the international community.
