AHSAN

Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal says China Pakistan Economic Corridor is an emblem of historic ties between the two countries.

 

He was talking to ambassador of China in Pakistan Sun Wei Dong who called on him in Islamabad. 

 

He said Pak-China relations are based on mutual goodwill and long term cooperation in economic and defence fields.

 

During the meeting it was decided to impart training on modern lines to the law enforcement agencies.  

 

Ahsan Iqbal said Balochistan has great significance in CPEC project and  it has been divided into northern and southern zones due to security reasons.

 

The Chinese ambassador expressed satisfaction over the security of Chinese citizens working on CPEC related projects in Pakistan.

 

Ahsan Iqbal said  Pakistan and China will unanimously foil conspiracies against China Pakistan Economic Corridor.

 

CPEC-CITY

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to construct CPEC City on Islamabad-Peshawar-Motorway near Swabi.

 

The government sources told Radio Pakistan Peshawar correspondent that the city will be constructed on eighty thousand kanal land at a cost of over four billion dollars under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

 

The CPEC City will consist of education and commercial zones, public buildings, apartments, Golf Course, Theme Park and sports facilities.

 

SHAHBAZ

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that holding three T-20 cricket matches in Lahore in a peaceful  manner is an actual victory of Pakistan.

 

In a statement  in Lahore today, he said  the nation enjoyed the presence and game of the international players at its homeland.

 

He said  Punjab Government had made solid security arrangements for the Independence Cup matches.

 

The Chief Minister congratulated  both the teams for presenting their best game.

 

POLLING

Polling in NA-120 Lahore will be held tomorrow. 

 

A spokesperson of Election Commission in Lahore said the polling will be held from 8 am to 5 pm without any break.

 

A total of 220 Presiding officers, 568 Assistant Presiding Officers and 568 polling officers will perform their election duties. 

 

Meanwhile, all necessary administrative and security measures have been finalized to hold free, fair and impartial by-election.

 

PUNJAB JAILS

Punjab Finance Department has issued over one billion rupees for improvement of security in jails.

 

In a statement Inspector General of Prison Department Mian Farooq Nazir said the amount will be spent on installation of CCTV cameras, scanning machines, walk through gates and other security gadgets.

 

He said a Control Room will  also be setup  in the IG office to monitor the jails.

     

CAMPAIGN

A three-day polio eradication campaign began in Karachi today.

 

During the campaign polio drops to over two  million children will be administered up to the age of five years.

 

PLANTS

Two coal based power plants of 330 megawatt each at Thar coal field will start producing electricity by June 2019.

 

The power plants are being established under China-Pakistan Economic corridor at a cost of two billion dollars.

 

A spokesman of Sindh Engro Coal Mining company told     Radio Pakistan that fifty percent  mining work at Thar coal block two has been completed.

 

DRAP

The Government is vigilantly taking steps to provide safe, effective and quality medicines to the people. 

 

According to official sources, the Federal Government is also  supporting the Provincial Governments for eradicating the spurious drugs.

 

The Federal and Provincial Drug Testing Laboratories tested,' analyzed 4199 samples from January to June this year and declared forty nine samples as spurious.

 

KASHMIR

TURKEY

Turkey has signed an agreement with Russia to purchase the advanced S-400 missile defense system. 

  

According to Turkish media, this is the most advanced integrated air defense system that can hit targets as far as 400 kilometers away.

 

Earlier, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that a first payment for the S-400 had been made to Russia.
