Pakistan,Russia ink agreement for construction of gas pipeline
1100-km pipeline with capacity of 12.4bcm per annum will connect LNG terminals of Karachi with those of Lahore.
Pakistan and Russia have signed an inter-governmental agreement for the construction of gas pipeline project from Lahore to Karachi.
Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak signed the agreement in Islamabad on Friday.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also attended the signing ceremony.
The 1,100 kilometer pipeline with a capacity of 12.4bcm per annum will connect liquefied natural gas terminals of Karachi with those of Lahore.
Russia will make an investment of two billion dollars in the project, the first phase of which will be completed by December 2017.
