Pakistan's permanent representative to the United Nations Tehmina Janjua says Pakistan has consistently supported the goals of nuclear disarmament and a nuclear-weapon-free world.
Speaking in the general debate of General Assembly's first committee in Geneva, she reaffirmed country's commitment to the goal of disarmament.
Ambassador Tehmina Janjua called for full access to civilian nuclear technology to meet the country's growing energy needs and for continued economic growth.
She said we have instituted a stringent national export control system and a robust nuclear security regime that are at par with international standards.
The Ambassador said Pakistan was a responsible nuclear power and its nuclear policy was shaped by evolving security dynamics of South Asia.
