Pakistan calls for finding peaceful solution to Kashmir dispute

Pakistan's Ambassador at the United Nations said Pakistan is committed to finding a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute acceptable to all sides.
Speaking at the UN General Assembly, she said longstanding disputes like Kashmir have to be addressed for peace and stability in the South Asia.
She said UN resolutions pledging a plebiscite to allow the Kashmiri people to exercise their right to self-determination have not been implemented.
She made it clear that consultations with Kashmiris who are an integral part of the dispute were essential to evolving a peaceful solution.
Maleeha Lodhi said Pakistan stands ready to engage in a dialogue with India on all outstanding issues.
Ambassador Maleeha Lodhi also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promote peace and stability in Afghanistan.
