At least fifteen persons were martyred and twenty-eight others injured when a bomb exploded in a bus near Gharbi Police Station in Peshawar this morning.

The bus was carrying government employees from Mardan to Peshawar.

The injured have been shifted to Cantonment Hospital and Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned the Peshawar blast . He expressed his deep grief and sorrow over loss of precious lives in the blast .

The Prime Minister said such cowardly acts could not deter our resolve to weed out terrorism from the country. He said culprits involved in the heinous crime will be brought to justice.

He directed the authorities concerned to provide best medical treatment to the injured.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also condemned the terrorist incident.

Meanwhile, talking to newsmen in Peshawar, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani has asked people to forge unity in their ranks and foil the nefarious designs of terrorists.

He said the backbone of the terrorists has been broken as a result of operation Zarb-e-Azb and they are now targeting innocent people in frustration. He said police and other law enforcing agencies are on red alert to foil terrorist acts.
