DAR-MEETING
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed the government's resolve to further strengthen anti-money laundering measures and combating the financing of terrorism frameworks for peace and security of the country.

He was chairing a meeting in Islamabad today to review progress on the implementation of measures against money laundering and terrorism financing.

Ishaq Dar urged all stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and collective efforts in order to achieve the desired results.

DAR-ITTMS
Chairing another meeting in Islamabad, the Finance Minister said government is taking measures to develop Pakistan as an economic corridor and enhance regional connectivity.

The meeting was held to review the progress on the development of border crossing complexes at Torkham and Chaman as part of the Integrated Transit Trade Management System project.

Ishaq Dar said that the project, once completed, will result in significant reduction in processing times at the border crossing points in Torkham and Chaman.


NISAR
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has directed to complete registration of all International Non-Governmental Organizations by next month.

Chairing a high level meeting in Islamabad today, he said completion of registration process under the new regulations will help bring transparency.

He directed to provide all possible assistance to all registered INGOs to make their work easier.

The meeting was told that so far sixty-six INGOs have formally been registered, whereas rest of the applications are being reviewed.

INTERIOR
Ministry of Interior has cancelled the visa of a Korean national running Urdu Academy in Quetta in connection with the abduction of two Chinese nationals.

BAJWA
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa says Pakistan has fought terrorism indiscriminately and this menace will be eliminated through operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.

He was addressing participants of National Security and War Course at National Defence University Islamabad today.

The Army Chief said full spectrum of threat demands comprehensive national response and the Army is committed to defence and security of the country.


ISPR
Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad is continuing across the country with full force.

According to ISPR, security forces during an intelligence based operation recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition from villages Sar Kunr and Manzr Khel of Tehsil Datta Khel in North Waziristan Agency.

TANVEER
Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain has said that friendly ties between Muslim and Sikh community are gaining strength day-by-day.

Addressing the central ceremony of “Jor Mala” at Gurdwara Dera Sahib, in Lahore today, he said Guru Argun Dave spread the message of peace and love.


PAK-EU
Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael says all out efforts are being made to ensure the promotion and protection of human rights including those of women, children and minorities.

He was talking to a European Union delegation led by its ambassador Jean Francois Cautain in Islamabad today.

Kamran Michael said steps have been taken to safeguard the rights of minorities including Hindu Marriage Act, 2016 and Christian Marriage and Divorce (Amendment) Bill, 2016 among others.

Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb says film industry is an effective tool to highlight the soft image of the country.

She stated this during a meeting with spokesman of Punjab government Malik Ahmed Khan in Islamabad today.

They also discussed matters related to package announced by the Prime Minister for promotion of film industry and welfare of artists.

Spokesman to Prime Minister Musaddiq Malik has said that appearance of prime minister before Joint Investigation Team vindicates that he believes in rule of law and supremacy of constitution.

Addressing a news conference along with MNA Danyal Aziz in Islamabad today, he said atmosphere of bias and doubts should be removed from the proceedings of JIT and a transparent investigation should be ensured.

KIRMANI
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani has said that PTI chief has failed in creating misunderstanding between government and the state institutions.

In a statement in Islamabad today, he said we have answered all the questions posed by JIT in Panama case and now Imran Khan should be ready for accountability.


SINDH-BUDGET 
Sindh Assembly passed the Finance Bill 2017-2018 with majority with total outlay of one point 043 trillion rupees in Karachi today.

All 732 cut motions presented by the opposition were rejected with majority and the opposition staged a protest in the house.


KP-ASSEMBLY
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly today passed supplementary budget of over 47 billion rupees for the outgoing fiscal year.

Earlier, the house approved all the demands for grant.

ASTOLA
Pakistan has declared largest offshore island, Jazira Haft Talar commonly known as Astola as its first Marine Protected Area.

Astola Island is located approximately 25 km off the coast of Pasni in Balochistan. Spanning over 6.7 square kilometers it is Pakistan's largest offshore island.

US-PAKISTAN
The United States has expressed desire to further strengthen cooperation with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.

In a press briefing in Washington, US State Department Spokesperson Ms. Heather Nauert said both the countries would continue working together on regional peace, security, prosperity and stability.

PAK-UN
Pakistan has urged the United Nations to take notice of grave human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir.

In a statement at the 35th session of UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Pakistan said that Indian forces killed over 100 young unarmed Kashmiri protestors in recent time.

KASHMIR
In occupied Kashmir, two civilians were martyred and several others injured due to the use of brute force by Indian troops on unarmed civilians across the territory since last evening.

According to Kashmir Media Service, people took to the streets after the troops launched a siege and search operation in Arwani area of Kulgam district.


GERMANY
Former German chancellor Helmut Kohl has died at in Ludwigshafen today.He was 87.
Helmut Kohl led Germany for from 1982 to 1998.
He is credited with bringing East and West Germany together after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

ERDOGAN
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called on the United States and Saudi Arabia to join the Astana talks aimed at bringing peace to Syria.

In an interview, he said fifth round of talks would be held in Astana soon.

CRICKET
Final of the ICC Champions Trophy will be played between Pakistan and arch-rivals India at the Oval on Sunday.
