Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar says Pakistan will be part of elite club of leading world economies G20 by 2030.


He was speaking at a contract signing ceremony of "Broadband for Sustainable Development Projects and National Incubation Centres".


He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif put the country on the path to sustainable development.


Finance Minister said the government will stay on and further strengthen the economy despite all the negative talk of certain quarters.


Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rahman Khan said according to plan of digital Pakistan envisioned by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, every village of Pakistan would be connected and get mobile phone services.


She said the government would provide all kind of support to companies that would build the National Incubation Centres.


The Minister said the incubation centres would be established in Peshawar, Karachi and Lahore and would generate immense business opportunities through joint ventures.



Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb says the way Prime Minister followed rule of law and constitution by appearing before the JIT should be emulated by all.


Talking to a private TV channel, she said Prime Minister's gesture will strengthen democracy and state institutions.


She said a new history was created with the visit of incumbent prime minister to the JIT.


The Minister said Sharif family has right to defend itself against false accusations like every citizen of the country. 


She said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is the only politician in Pakistan whose three generations have been held accountable.


To a question, she said PTI chief Imran Khan wants to create a situation of uncertainty in the country.



Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has set an example by appearing before joint investigation team.   


In an interview, he said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and PML-N have given sacrifices for restoration of judiciary.


To a question, he said some elements want to come to power through backdoor.


Meanwhile, talking to a news channel, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique said Sharif family will emerge innocent in the Panama Papers case.


The Minister said some people were using the Panama Papers for political point scoring.


He said the Prime Minister has put the country on the path of speedy development.



Prime Minister's Spokesman Dr Musaddik Malik says PML-N government has reservations on JIT's investigation procedure.


Talking to PTV he said members of JIT should follow procedure set by the Supreme Court to ensure transparency in investigation process.


Dr Musaddik Malik said PML-N always accepted the decisions of the courts.



Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz says China wants good relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan for peace and stability in the region.


Talking to VOA he said China has expressed willingness to mediate between Pakistan and Afghanistan for improving their ties.


The Advisor said China's  Foreign Minister will undertake visits to Kabul and Islamabad for the purpose in the current month.


Advisor to Prime Minister hoped that Pak-Afghan relations will improve after the recent meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Astana.



Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat and China's top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng have held a meeting in Beijing.


The Chinese leader said Beijing appreciates Pakistani government and military's firm support for China in fighting terrorism.


He called on both sides to enhance military-to-military cooperation so as to safeguard the security of both countries as well as regional peace and stability.

Three police personnel were martyred and one was injured when terrorists opened fire on their van at Chamkani area of Peshawar.


According to police, one terrorist was also killed in retaliatory firing by police.



CTD Multan arrested three terrorists belonging to banned outfits from Kali Puli area of tehhsil Shuja Abad last night.


According to CTD officials, a large quantity of arms and ammunition was also recovered from them.



European Parliament's member Sajjad Karim has said that the externally sponsored internal actors in Pakistan are facilitating the terrorists targeting of innocent civilians.


He said this during his brief speech in the European Parliament and strongly defended Pakistan's stance on terrorism.


He said the people of Pakistan have been carrying a very heavy burden on behalf of the international community for a very long time.


Referring to the human rights situation and revival of the death penalty to punish the terrorists, he emphasized that the rampant terrorist attacks in Pakistan necessitated to take some stern steps as effective deterrence.



In Occupied Kashmir, peaceful protest demonstrations will be held today after Friday prayers against the brutalities of Indian troops in the territory. 


Call for the protest has been given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik.


The protest is also intended to raise voice against the raids of Indian National Investigation Agency on the houses of Hurriyat leaders. 


The leadership in a statement said that NIA was being used to harass the genuine Kashmiri leadership. They demanded immediate release of all political prisoners.


In Afghanistan, six people have been killed and ten injured in a bomb explosion at the Al-Zahra mosque in Kabul.


According to the reports, the attacker attempted to enter the mosque but was barred from reaching the prayer hall, therefore, he blew him up.



Turkey has summoned the United States ambassador to Ankara, John Bass, after American authorities issued arrest warrants for President Erdogan’s bodyguards.


President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has criticized the US move to issue arrest warrants for 12 of his bodyguards allegedly linked with a brawl outside the Turkish embassy in Washington.



In the World Cup qualifying round, Netherlands defeated Pakistan by 4-0 in London last night.
