Shutdown to be observed in IOK on Wednesday
In Occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown will be observed on Wednesday to protest against the series of killing of Hurriyet activists in Sopore by Indian armed agents.
The call for the shutdown has been jointly given by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Geelani, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, senior Hurriyet leader, Shabbir Ahmed Shah and others.
Meanwhile, the personnel of Indian army, police and paramilitary forces cordoned off several areas of Sopore and sealed all entry points of the town.
In Geneva, Kashmiri leaders taking part in a general debate during the 29th Session of the UN Human Rights Council called upon the UN to appoint a special envoy on Kashmir.
