Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says that we have to win the war against terrorism at all costs to secure the country and future of the coming generations.

Speaking in Radio Pakistan’s Nuqta-e-Nazar program, Former IG Police, Sindh Afzal Shigri said: “Prime Minister is fully committed to maintain law and order in the economic hub of the country. Unfortunately, the number of Karachi police personnel did not increase with the increase in population of the city. There is a strong need to enhance the number of police and also equip them with latest weapons and technology to counter the street crimes. The political interference in police department should be stopped. Prime Minister is quite clear about the action against the terrorists in the Karachi without any discrimination.”

State Minister for Communications Abdul Hakeem Baloch said: “Prime Minister has chaired a high level meeting in Karachi and vowed that his government will make all out efforts for the maintenance of peace in the biggest city of Pakistan. Prime Minister wants to ensure merit in the recruitment of police and security personnel. Karachi is our economic hub and if it is disturbed, then the whole country is in disarray. Government will equip police and other forces with latest technologies. Government is committed to implement the National Action Plan in letter and spirit.”

Former President, Karachi Chamber and Commerce and Industry Majeed Aziz said: “Karachi is commercial capital of Pakistan and significantly contributes in national economy. Today, the Prime Minister visited Karachi and took on board all the stake holders. He chaired a high level meeting and discussed the law and order situation of the provincial metropolis. Prime Minister was also briefed by the security officials on the current situation of the country. The trader community is very glad over the visit of Prime Minister and his commitment to implement the National Action Plan without any discrimination.”

MNA Shahid Rehmani said: “Karachi is the largest industrial city of Pakistan and it is called commercial and financial hub of the country. Unfortunately, the city has been facing deteriorating law and order situation for the last some years. We are hopeful that after the implementation of National Plan of Action against terrorism, Karachi will again become a peaceful city of the country. The government of Pakistan Peoples Party is completely in harmony with federal government to maintain peace in Karachi. Former President Asif Ali Zardari also assured his full cooperation in this regards.”

PTI leader Dr. Arif Alvi said: “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is fully cooperating with government in the maintenance of peace in Karachi. We offer our full support to the government in the elimination of terrorism and sectarianism from the country. Government should curb the political influence and involvement in police department of Sindh if they really want to improve the law and order situation of country.”
