Minister for Kashmir Affairs says the day is not far off when the Kashmiris would achieve their destination.

Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ch. Barjees Tahir has said that Pakistan achieved independence because of sustained struggle of Muslims of South Asia.

 

Addressing a function in connection with Independence Day in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said Muslims offered immense sacrifices for creation of Pakistan. 

 

The Minister complimented Kashmiris for their relentless struggle against Indian subjugation and said the day is not far off when they would achieve their destination.

 

Azad Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan has said that India is committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Occupied Kashmir.

 

He said India will have to account for its genocide of Kashmiris.

 

The AJK President said Indian brutalities notwithstanding, Kashmiris are fully resolved to continue their struggle till realization of their right of self-determination.

 

He said Kashmiris believe that Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir.

And in Occupied Kashmir, itself the joint resistance leadership has said that Hurriyet leaders arrested by New Delhi-based National Investigation Agency are being subjected to psychological torture.

 

In a statement in Srinagar the leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik condemned the solitary confinement of the Hurriyet leaders.

 

They expressed grave concern over the deteriorating condition of political prisoners lodged outside Jammu and Kashmir.

                 

REGISTRATION:

The registration process of unregistered Afghan refugees started across the country on Wednesday. 

 

Sources of Afghan embassy told our Peshawar correspondent Falak Niaz that twenty-one registration centers have been established for the purpose.

 

These include eleven centers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa five in Baluchistan, two Punjab, two in Islamabad and one in Karachi.

 

According to an estimate over one million Afghan refugees will be registered during the process.

                   

ECP-PTI

Election Commission has given another opportunity to PTI to provide details of party funding by the 7th of next month.

 

At its hearing in Islamabad on Wednesday, the Commission rejected plea of the PTI for halting proceedings of the case.

 

The Commission said this will be the last opportunity for PTI to submit details of party funding.                      

 

TERRORISM

A police constable was martyred when unknown terrorists opened fire on him in district Bannu on Wednesday morning.

 

In another incident four persons were injured when their vehicle hit by a roadside remote control bomb in district Lower Dir on Wednesday.

 

Meanwhile, Counter Terrorism Department arrested two terrorists in Peshawar on Wednesday who were planting explosive material.

 

Two kilogram explosive material was recovered from them.                   

 

HAJJ-DR:

In Makkah, a directorate of facilitation and communications has been established by the ministry of religious affairs to facilitate the Pakistani Hujjaj in every possible manner.

 

In an exclusive talk with our correspondent Zahid Hameed, Director Facilitation and Communications Muhammad Ashraf Lanjaar said a lost and found cell is operating under the facilitation directorate to trace out the lost luggage of pilgrims and deliver the same to them at their buildings.

 

Ashraf Lanjaar said that we have also deployed guides close to Haram Sharif who provide necessary guidance to the Hujjaj especially relating to their movement to the places of stay. He said his directorate is also managing affairs for the movement of pilgrims between Makkah and Madina.        

 

SIKH-PROTEST

Hundreds of Sikh activists from North America staged a protest rally in front of the UN Headquarters in New York on the eve of India's Independence Day on Tuesday.

 

They were carrying Khalistan flag demanding independence for the Indian Punjab.

 

The demonstrators were chanting anti-India slogans and carrying placards inscribed with slogans like Free Punjab - End Indian Occupation.

 

Speakers at the rally urged the United Nations to support them to call Punjab Independence Referendum to secede from India to create a separate Sikh homeland, Khalistan.

 

CHINA-US

China has urged the United States and North Korea to stop threatening each other and work toward a peaceful resolution of their dispute.

 

In a telephonic conversation with his Russian counterpart the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the two countries should permit no one to "stir up an incident on their doorstep."

 

PALESTINE

In occupied Palestine the Israeli military demolished another house of a Palestinian in West Bank on Wednesday.

 

Israeli military has also arrested five members of the family whose house was demolished.
